Alleged Cults Crisis Leaves Residents With Sorrow, Tears As 3 Died, 1 Hospitalised

Residents of Okrika Water Front in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State ,are said to be in sorrowful mood as three ladies were killed, while a child was injured.
An impeccable account has it that the immediate trouble started on December 14, 2020 after an alleged attack on a member of the Green Lander by suspected Icelanders at NDDC site along Eastern By-Pass, close to Marine Base.
The source further stated that the attack may have been necessitated by the refusal of some members of Greenlanders to an earlier peace accord proposed by Icelanders in the suburbs.
According to the source, “As a sign of displeasure to their (Greenlanders’) refusal for the peace accord, the Icelanders went and harassed one of their leaders at the NDDC site.
The harassment, according to the source was taken as ‘One too many’, occasioned the urge for retaliation and subsequently invasion of the waterfront suburb during a football match by the Greenlanders.
Another eyewitness account has it that, on their arrival, they just opened fire and shot sporadically and directly.
“These boys are wicked and satanic. On their arrival, they just opened fire on people. They never tried spotting their opponents. We have lost three innocent souls in their prime,” the anonymous source sorrowfully lamented.
BochNews investigation revealed that the residents of the suburbs are now living in fear of the unknown with much apprehension.
Efforts to speak with families of the deceaseds were rebuffed with threat.
As at the time of filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) has not responded to our calls, text message.
