352 Pensioners Have Been Paid – Pension Board Perm Sec

The Bayelsa State Pension Board Permanent Secretary, Nancy Ikelemo has revealed that the board has paid about three hundred and fifty two Pensioners in the State under Governor
Douye Diri’s administration.
Ikelemo who made the revelation through information sent to newsmen, said that the number of beneficiaries does not include new retirees, added that the payment cuts across all categories of retirees.
She further stated that the State government has released about nine hundred million naira (#900,000,000.00) to the board so far.
The board secretary though did not give break down on how the figure was expended.
Boch News investigation revealed that the State had about twelve years backlog of retirees who were not paid gratuities but are currently been paid in batches under the present administration.
It was further revealed that many retirees have died out of frustration, while some had turned destitutes.
The few that still eke a living are wholly not dependant on their gratuity nor pension.
