POLITICS: Tsunami Bonghie Hits Ahoada East PDP

by Oyagiri ChimeThe political landscape of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State, may experience some tilting, shaking and mass movement as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been hit by what a political pundit described as, TSUNAMI BONGHIE, as High Chief Salvation Ezegwogwo defected to the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).
Speaking to newsmen after his reception ceremony at the APC State Secretariat, Port Harcourt on Saturday, December 5, 2020, Ezegwogwo assured his new family of crippling the opposition politically and otherwise.
He declared, “As a businessman and politician, I will not say much because in the business circle, the only word we know is ‘deliver’.
“I will deliver my local government area to my party. You will witness more defection in my area from now onwards.”
Giving reasons for dumping his former political party, he said, “I saw light. I discovered a man that thinks and do things like me. I saw a detribalised man, who sees and takes all as his. Am talking about His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers State and Federal Minister for Transportation.
“He is a man worth following. He built Rivers State educationally, health wise , infrastructuraly and also reduce the Insecurity during his administration.
Ezegwogwo, who is seen as a bulldozer and influencer in political circles, may become a clog in PDP’s wheel in the LGA. He is always more felt than seen in politics.
Another political gladiator and one time caretaker Chairman in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Napoleon Ukalikpe, wondered who will be left in the PDP in the local government, considering Ezegwogwo’s clout and capacity in the area.
According to him, “PDP is finished in Ahoada East local government area. We have caught a big fish. He will be very valuable and a destabilizing factor against PDP.
“We need someone like him in our party now than ever. He has built capacity. He finances human development.”
Boch News Online investigation revealed that Salvation Ezegwogwo has touched most lives in the area, financing scholarship schemes, church projects, religious and empowerments programmes.
It should be noted that High Chief Salvation Ezegwogwo was amongst the persons who recently defected from PDP and were received by the APC last Saturday.
Others were; Chief Hon. Ibinabo Michael West, Hon John Bazia, Hon. Barr. Chima Obinna, and others.
