The Chairman of E.F Network, Mr Gideon Egbuchulam, has advised Nigerians to contribute their quota in efforts geared towards fighting insecurity and other criminal acts.

Mr Egbuchulam made the call during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja recently.

According to the CEO, the recent launch of the security solution, Efphonetaxi, was part of the company’s contribution to Nigeria’s quest to deploy Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to combat crime.

He said, “We have developed the Efphonetaxi to assist in crime fighting by security agencies in Nigeria.

“We cannot all be security officers to make a difference, but could contribute to our country in different ways to enhance the country’s security apparatus”.

While decrying the level of insecurity in the country, the company’s chairman, noted that Nigeria is among some of the countries in the world that are grappling with high rate of insecurity such as kidnapping and other criminal acts, adding that other countries in similar situation have adopted ICT to tackle the menace.

The CEO ,who advised Nigerians to embrace the use of the Efphonetaxi to curb crime perpetrated with phone, disclosed that the technology has anti- kidnapping tool that would help security agencies respond faster in case of distress.

According to him, the app gives precise location of someone in possession of a phone and therefore makes it possible for a criminal to be arrested instantly when the app on the phone is activated.

Explaining further, Egbuchulam, said the technology renders a stolen phone useless when remotely locked and can also facilitate the arrest of the thief.

Another beauty of the app, he added, is that the icon on the phone can be hidden where the thief would not know it is installed, and code or PIN known only to the owner used to operate the phone remotely.

The CEO, who also advised phone owners to share their access codes with a friend or family member who can assist to perform the remote commands in a situation where they can not operate the phone due to theft, loss or other reasons, stated that if no command is sent to the phone, whoever is in possession of it may operate it, but that once the code is sent, the app locks the phone to prevent any unauthorized user from accessing it.

The company enjoined members of the public who need more information about the app to contact its customer service through 08091113333 or visit efphonetaxi.com for more details.
