Reprieve may have come to the suspended students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as its management is said to have recinded its earlier decision.
Remmy Chibuzor and Sunday Idongesit were suspended yesterday for allegedly reacting contrary to post authored by the Vice Chancellor on facebook.
Other beneficiaries of the management’s decision were two male students caught in the female hostel who had been forgiven according to the press release signed by the school Public Relations Officer (PRO).
The university in the release warned that it will not hesitate to wield the big stick if any one is found to circulate any publication that tends to ridicule the institution, as provided in the rules and regulations of the university.
The decision by the institution to recall the students may have come as a result of public condemnation of the student’s suspension.
A coalition of rights group had called on the management of the school rescind on its decision as the suspension did not follow due process.
