University Suspends Three Students Over Rape
1 min readAuthorities of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt Rivers, has suspended three students who allegedly gang-raped a female school mate in the institution’s hostel.
While two of the suspects have been arrested, one is still at large.
Those suspended are, Nnamdi Destiny and Samuel Valentine of Department of Political Science and Ovunwo Henry of Department of Sociology.
The rape matter has been referred to the Students Disciplinary Committee for action, while occupants of the hostel where the incident occurred have been driven out and hostel sealed.
It was gathered that the Registrar of the institution has been directed to issue a directive banning visits of opposite sex in the hostel.
