Niger Delta University Set to Commence Academic Activities

The authorities of Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Amassoma, Bayelsa State, has announced resumption date for commencement of academic activities for the 2019/2020 session.
A statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mr Benjamin Joffa, said academic activities will commence on October 5th to enable students begin school fees payment, clearance and registration.
According to the statement, the decision was reached by the committee of Provost and Deans (CPD) at its 134 Emergency Meeting held on Friday, September,25, 2020.
When contacted, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Comrade Tombra Barakumo, said the management of the institution has announced resumption, but that his association is on strike.
“Yes, we are aware the management announced resumption but ASUU is still on strike. We are waiting to see the management’s next line of action.” Barakumo stated.
