PETROL, ELECTRICITY TARIFF HIKE: NLC Vows to Embark on Strike
1 min readThe Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has reiteirated its resolve to embark on strike over the hike increment in the prices of fuel and electricity tariff.
The leadership of the body reached the decision at the end of its meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
According to the NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, the decision to embark on the planned industrial action was taken by leaders of the union across the 36 States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
It would be recalled that the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency had announced an increase in the price of premium motor spirit better known as petrol, while the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission also increased electricity tariff from N30.23 to N62.33 per kwh.
