Rotary Club Inducts Rivers Monarch
2 min readRIVERS STATE: Rotary club of Port Harcourt Airfield, District 9141, has inducted the Regent of Ekpeye Supreme traditional stool, His Majesty, Nye Udu Felix Enene Otuwarikpo as a Honorary member in recognition of his efforts to promote peace and development in society.
The Upata monarch, the Rotary club noted, already exhibits traits of a Rotarian due to his commitment to promote peace and enhance the well-being of the Upata and Ekpeye people together.
“The Nye Udu, like Rotary members, believe in shared responsibility and taking action on our world’s most persistent issues,” it said.
These and many other efforts at working for humanity’s good, attracted his being investitured as a Honorary Rotarian by the club.
Some of the contributions of the traditional ruler include, One Youth, One Skill, Upata Go To School Initiatives, the successful return of Ula Ikata people back to their ommunity after years in exile due to internal crisis and the building of a permanent palace at Edeoha Town, midwifing of Ekpeye traditional amnesty to repentant cultists, amongst others.

The event was attended by many traditional rulers, the clergy and other dignitaries, took place on Sunday, September 13.
