Christians Have Sold Their Birthright – Bishop Igbiks

The founder and Chief Shepherd of Word of Hope Ministry, Bishop Benjamin Igbikioyibo David, has decried the absence of fervent prayers amongst Christians, which has resulted to the negative trend being experienced by believers in Nigeria.
Bishop Igbikioyibo, who said christians have left the place prayer in search of material things, likened it to the biblical Esau, who sold his birthright to his brother, Jacob.
“A lot of us as leaders have left the place of prayer. The church has gone to sleep, if the church decides to pray and they pray, no matter the decision or bill signed into law, God will not let it stand.
There is no situation that God cannot change”, the Bishop said.
He further emphasised, “If we can find men that can righteously pray and sacrifice themselves to kill their flesh, it won’t take days, God will wipe these evil people, and Nigeria will become a peaceful place.
Bishop David who wondered how things got this bad, when Christians are also at the decision making tables, opined that the fear of losing positions and patronage may be behind their sheepish attitude.
“My heart is heavy and grieved on the things happening amongst Christians. In the Senate and House of Representatives, we have Christians. The Vice President is a senior pastor and also a professor, christians are captains of industry and of different works of life.
“What have they done, they have all gone to sleep. Do you know why things happen and Christian are shying away? Because of fear of losing their positions or not growing in politics,” he revealed.
He blamed the love of money as reason for the silence and called on christians to wake from their slumber and do the expected.
“Enemies know how to scatter us, they give us little money and we sell our birthright. That is why these men and women in government can buy us over and swindle our people to take unnecessary decisions,” he said.
He decreed that; “What ever is against the church whether in disguise will never stand. God will not allow it to stand.
He charged Christians all over the world to put on the armour of Christ and defend the faith through prayers, before it gets out of hand.
“If Christians all over the world do not rise up to pray with one heart, it will not be for one Christian sect in Nigeria, it will go round Africa, so christians need to stand up and come out of ceremonial and milk and honey prayers.
“This is not a time to begin to fight each other, instead we should pray like never before so that the hand of God will begin to move swiftly and bring down the evil leaders”, Bishop Igbiks charged.
The Man of God reminded christians that the grace that saw Esther, Modeccai and the Jews through in the hands of Haman is still alive to see them, if only they will faithfully ask of Him.
Bemoaning the wrong attitude of christians always craving to be leaders without passing through followership training, he called on christians to stand as a united entity and work for the promotion of the gospel.
“One of the biggest challenges I have today, is that nobody wants to be a follower, every body wants to be a leader. Because if we are divided we cannot stand. Christians in Nigeria are divided, everybody wants to do it in the way of my church or pastor.
“Any man that decides to dig a pit for christians, they all shall die in the hands of God.
“The church of God in Nigeria will not die”, he declared.
