Niger Delta University Will Soon Produce Drugs – VC
1 min readThe Vice Chancellor of Niger Delta University (NDU), Professor Samuel Edoumiekumo, has revealed that the institution will venture into drugs manufacturing before he leaves office.
Professor Edoumiekumo, who made the declaration in his office while fielding questions from newsmen, said “We are also talking about NDU drugs. We have approached TETFUND to sponsor our pharmaceutical faculty. We want to build a factory and I know I will achieve it by the grace of God before I leave office”.
He further stressed that drugs produced in the school factory would help build the institution’s revenue base, adding that acquired practical Knowledge from the factory will enable graduates from the institution establish their own pharmaceutical companies, become self-employed and employers of labour.
He asserted, “Drugs will be produced in the university and our students will be the workers in the factory. The internship and training will be there, so that they will have practical knowledge. As they are finishing, they should be employers of labour by owning pharmaceutical companies”
