We Will Not Strike Over Fuel and Electricity Price Increase- NUPENG
1 min readThe anticipated strike action by organized labour against hike in petrol price and electricity tariff increase may not hold, as the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG) has declared that there would be no strike today.
National President of NUPENG, Comrade Wiliams Akporeha, who disclosed this to newsmen in an interview, denied issuing threats of embarking on strike over the increase.
The NUPENG chairman insisted that the union has no issue with the increase and therefore would not lead any protests over the issue.
“The only area that the Labour union has issue jointly with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is in the Port Harcourt and the leadership of NLC is leading this struggle,” he said.
