Commotion As Tricycle Operators Protest Over Arrest of Member in Yenagoa

Operators of tricycle, popularly known as Keke, today caused a gridlock at Tombia Roundabout, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State while protesting over arrest of their member.
Sources said, the Keke driver had committed a traffic offence, and while trying to avoid arrest by the police caused an accident.
The incident caused a fight between the Keke driver and the police, however the offender was eventually arrested.
According to the source, after the arrest, other Keke drivers blocked the Mbiama/ Yenagoa Road which is the major road into and out of the Bayelsa State capital, thereby causing a gridlock.
Other sources, however, disclosed that the Keke drivers were protesting against too much extortion of its members by the police.
