EHIME MBANO IMC CHAIRMAN VISITS UMUAKAGU COMMUNITY …Assures Them Of Govt’s Continuous Partnership
2 min readFollowing his initiative on community tour, the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ehime Mbano LGA in Imo State, Barr.Chidi Okechukwu was at Umuakagu Autonomous Community recently where he assured the people of the area of government’s determination to partner with them for speedy development.
In his speech, the Council Boss who was received at the Palace of His Royal Highness Eze Emmanuel Ibechi (Akagu 1 of Umuakagu) commended the people of the community for being organized and showing class in their conduct.
He confirmed that the challenges of the community is a known case but decided to embark on the community tour across the LGA to have a first hand assessment and report from the people.
He observed that the ongoing police station project is being sponsored by the community as he informed the people of Umuakagu that the state government is determined to partner with any community that has shown seriousness.
He disclosed that the Shared Prosperity Government under the watch of HE Sen.Hope Uzodinma has mapped out projects and programmes for schools, roads and health facilities which will usher unprecedented development in the rural areas.
He stated emphatically that the exercise is not for campaign assuring them that all documents provided will be pushed to the appropriate quarters for speed action as he revealed that it is important for the community to play her own role and engage in actions which will promote peace, unity and progress.
Earlier in his address, President General of Umuakagu Autonomous Community, Engr.Cletus Egwi thanked the LGA Chairman for finding out time to visit the community. He informed the August visitor and his team that the challenges of the community includes; poor management of schools, unemployment, bad roads, pollution, youth engagement in smoking of hard drugs, insecurity, child abuse and distractions.
The IMC Chairman received a royal blessing from the Traditional Ruler of the community, HRH Eze Emmanuel Ibechi who is the Chairman of Ehime Mbano Council of Ndi Eze.
