Rivers Deputy Speaker Bags Award Of Excellence . . . Charges NYCN To Work With Govt

The Deputy Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt.H bon. Ehie Edison has received an award of excellence from the National Council Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Rivers State chapter.
The group, led by its chairman, Amb. Ihunwo Chijioke, honoured the Deputy Speaker with an Award of Excellence as the Best Deputy Speaker 2020 in celebration of this year’s international youth day,
tagged; “Youth Engagement for Global Action”.

The youth chairman while presenting the award of excellence thanked the Deputy Speaker for making the state youths proud in his legislative duties, human capacity building, infrastructural development and empowerment of Youths through appointments into key positions of trust.

While responding to the group, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison advised the leadership of the Youth Council to eschew every form of violence, thuggery and cultism because the future of the state lies in the hands of the youths.

He further charged the Youth Council to support government programmes and policies because the Governor Wike led- administration was geared towards youth development considering the appointments of youths into positions of trust.

The Deputy Speaker enjoined the youth leadership to be good ambassadors, adding that it should place priority on human capital development as a panacea for peace and unity by engaging youths in skill acquisition and partnering oil multinationals to positively engage youths on skills acquisitions that will make Rivers youths to compete favourably in the comity of youth bodies in the country and the world at large since the youths are agents of social and developmental change.
