INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2020: NYCN CHAIRMAN TASKS RIVERS YOUTHS TO ENGAGE IN MEANINGFUL ACTIVITIES FOR GLOBAL IMPACT

Amb Ihunwo Chijioke , has tasked the youths of Rivers State to engage in gainful endeavours would attrac global attention.
Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo made the call on the occasion of the 2020 United Nations International World Youth Day .
The 12th of August of every year has been set aside by the United Nation as International Youth Day. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. This years theme is “Youth Engagement for Global Action”.
In his charge to youths in the state, Amb. Ihunwo, advised the youths to get themselves engaged and play active roles in politics, entrepreneurship, innovation, decision making, business, and other activities in order to compete favourably with their counterparts in other nations and make a global impact.
The Chairman noted that it is impossible to make a global impact without engaging in meaningful activities that would develop them.
“The quality of things we engage in as youths is what will determine the quality of impact we will make globally”.
“No outstanding youth will emerge without engaging in positive things that will make him a global figure. Only a Youth that is ready, or that engages in positive activity will be reckoned with globally”. The chairman said.
He aslo called on Rivers State youths to be inspired by the theme of this year’s International Youth Day and have a change in perspective, engage in things that would bring positive returns in their lives, adding that the decision they make as youths would impact negatively or positively on their lives in future .
He stated”we have in our hands our own greatness, and the possibility of us making a global impact. We have in our hands our dreams and aspirations for a greater and better us. We should take responsibility and overcome the challenges of building a better us that will bring us to the global stage”.
